Design And Comfort

Let’s start with the design. Both Freepods have a similar charging case design. The size of the cases is practically the same, with the Type-C charging port placed underneath both cases. However, the Oraimo Freepods Pro features a premium metallic finish that makes the case look classy, whereas the Freepods Lite comes with a matte finish. The matte finish makes the Lite case more durable due to its scratch-resistant texture. The metallic finish of Freepods Pro, though classy, is prone to scratches, which might reduce its longevity. To keep the surface from scratching, you will need to use a protective silicone case. With the Freepods Lite, you don’t need a case to keep it safe.

Another difference in both cases is the placement of the reset button. The Oraimo Freepod Pro has its reset button at the front, while the Lite has its reset button on the side. Both buds have a single LED indicator at the front that lights up when you open it or when charging. While charging the case, the Freepods Pro indicator stays static, while that of the Freepods Lite fades in and out. I like the Freepods Lite because it shows me that the case is truly charging.

Opening the lids, we are greeted with the earbuds. The buds’ placement in the case is different. The Pro buds face each other, and the Lite’s buds face away. Both earbuds have a stem-style design with similar shapes and sizes; however, the stem of the Pro is slightly longer than that of the Lite. The Freepods Lite’s buds feature a translucent design, allowing you to see some of the mechanisms inside, while the Pro is entirely opaque. And, I almost forgot, the Freepods Lite comes with a translucent lid. This is a new trend in Oraimo earbuds; even the recently released Oraimo Riff 2 features a transparent cover.

Lastly, the Freepods Pro comes in a single color, while the Lite is available in three different colors. This gives buyers the freedom to choose a color that suits their taste.

Oraimo Freepods Pro Vs Oraimo Freepods Lite – Sound Quality

Coming to the sound, both earbuds are like magic for your ears. The Freepods Pro has a special speaker inside that’s 8mm, while the Freepods Lite goes even bigger with a 10mm speaker. They both have a special layer that makes the music sound amazing.

Imagine their sound like this: clear voices, sharp high notes, and a thumping bass that makes you feel the music. Straight out of the box, the Pro version comes with its incredible sound. It makes voices and high notes sound good, and the bass is super strong – like the best bass you’ve ever heard.

But there’s something cool about the Pro version. It features ANC which blocks out all the outside noise so you’re in your music world. There are two special sound modes: the heavy bass and the transparency mode. You can pick the mode that fits where you are.

Now, here’s the exciting part about the Lite version. It’s from the future (well, 2023)! That means it can do something special. It can work with this awesome app from Oraimo that makes the sound even better. This app first came out with the Freepods 4, and now the Lite version can use it too. With the app, you can make the sound exactly how you like it. You’re the boss of how it sounds!

So, when it’s time to decide, the Pro version has its special magic, and the Lite version has a futuristic trick up its sleeve. No matter which one you pick, you’re in for an amazing music experience.

Battery Life And Performance

Now, let’s talk about the battery department. The Freepods Pro, on a single charge, provides playtime of 13 hours (ANC off) and 9 hours (ANC on). The case gives an additional 30 hours (ANC off) and 23 hours (ANC on). These earbuds can last for days if you’re like me, only using them for a maximum of 6 hours per day, which is quite decent.

On the other hand, the Freepods Lite boasts 7 hours on a single charge, and the case offers an extra 33 hours of playtime. When you compare the two, it becomes clear that the Oraimo Freepods Pro is the definite winner here. Even with ANC on, it still provides approximately 2 more hours of playtime compared to the Freepods Lite.

However, the Freepods Lite also comes with an advantage: the charging port of the Lite’s case supports AniFast technology. A 10-minute quick charge is capable of giving you 120 minutes of playtime. Yet, even with the fast charging technology, the Freepods Lite still lags behind the Pro. This is because the Pro comes with unbeatable battery life.

Connectivity And Game Mode

The Freepods Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.2, providing a seamless and stable connection. It also supports Google Fast Pairing. This feature works when the Bluetooth on your Android phone is turned on. When you open the lid of the buds, a pop-up notification appears, automatically connecting your phone to the buds.

The Oraimo Freepods Lite features the latest Bluetooth 5.3, which is slightly faster and takes fewer seconds to connect to your device. However, I still prefer the Pro version for this aspect. This is due to the inclusion of Google Fast Pairing, a feature that the Lite version lacks despite having the latest Bluetooth version on the market.

Both versions have a decent transmission range of 10 meters, and they are suitable for gaming. Speaking of gaming, the Freepods Pro offers better low latency, making them superior for gaming compared to the Freepods Lite. Regarding streaming, both perform well, although the Pro version still has an edge. The Lite version is still decent though.

Another noteworthy feature is the in-ear detection of the Oraimo Freepod Pro. This feature automatically pauses music playback when you remove the earbuds from your ears and resumes when you put them back in. The Freepods Lite also has its unique feature called the ‘three minutes auto shutdown.’ Here’s how it works: if you open the lid or remove the buds and don’t connect them within three minutes, they will automatically shut down. This helps prevent any unnecessary battery loss.

Oraimo Freepods Pro Vs Oraimo Freepods Lite – Call Quality

The FreePods Pro comes with 4 mics, as compared to the 2 mics on the Lite. The Pro has Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), while the Lite features Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC). Buds with ANC offer superior call quality compared to those with ENC. This is because ANC can suppress any kind of disturbance from the environment.

With the Pro, you can enjoy good call quality whether you are indoors or outdoors. Even in the busiest of environments, you can still make or receive calls without issues. The ENC on the Lite provides good call quality indoors, but the quality drops when you’re outdoors. Although you can still make or receive calls, the environmental noise will find its way in, and you won’t achieve the crystal-clear call quality you desire. Therefore, in this aspect, the Pro still has the advantage.

Verdict

There you have it: the Oraimo Freepods Pro vs. Oraimo Freepods Lite comparison didn’t disappoint. Each of these buds comes with its advantages. In my opinion, the Oraimo Freepods Pro still edges out the Lite, despite having been released way back in 2021. The ANC feature and battery life truly stand out for the Pro, as does the sound quality. However, the Freepods Lite are budget-friendly, making them decent earbuds with good-quality features as well.

If you carefully go through the comparison, you’ll notice several sections where the Freepods Lite came very close to matching the Pro. Generally, if you’re on a budget, the Lite is the best option for you; however, if you desire ANC features, then the Pro is the way to go. Feel free to share your thoughts on this post in the comment section.
