TOZO OPenEgo
Spread the love

The TOZO OpenEgo is an open-ear headphone with Bluetooth 5.3. The headphone comes with a 16.22mm driver that is sure to produce good sound quality. It comes in a rectangular charging case with an LED display that shows the battery level of both the headphones and the case. The case comes with a battery capacity of 600mAh, in which TOZO claims to deliver a combined battery performance of 30 hours. With that said, let’s check out how the OpenEgo performs in real life.

What’s In The Box

  • OpenEgo Wireless Earbuds
  • Charging Case
  • Charging Cable
  • Quick Guide & User Manual

Appearance And Build Quality

Tozo always wants to make its earbuds stand out when it comes to design, and the Tozo OpenEgo is no exception. The OpenEgo comes in a rectangular charging case with curved edges. To be fair, the case is a bit big and cannot slide into tight pockets.

At the front of the OpenEgo charging case, you get a rectangle-shaped LED screen, and there’s a USB-C charging port on the back. You can see how much battery is left in the case and the headphones on the LED screen, which is pretty ok as most new earbuds’ cases come with this feature.

TOZO OpenEgo earphones have a unique design where they don’t go inside your ears but instead have hooks that go around them.

They’re made of comfortable and grippy silicone material. They’re well-made, look stylish, and are both lightweight and tough. Each bud weighs about 12.7g, and together with the case, it’s around 89g.

The headphone has three parts: the front where the sound comes out, the hooks that go around your ears, and the back where the battery is.

The touch-sensitive area on the outside of the headphone is where you control it, and there’s a little light to show you if it’s on. Comfort is a big plus with the TOZO OpenEgo headphones.

They come with extra supports for your ears to make sure they stay put, even during intense workouts. The ear hooks are comfy and keep the earbuds in place no matter how hard you’re exercising.

They’re also water-resistant (IPX5 rating), which means they can handle sweat and light rain, making them perfect for activities like walking, running, biking, or even driving. Plus, they’re so light you hardly notice you’re wearing them, even for a long time.

Connectivity

The earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.3 connection that is really strong, and the headphones can handle both SBC and AAC codecs, which make them compatible with any device.

When you first connect them, you’ll need to take the headphones out and choose “TOZO OpenEgo” from your phone’s Bluetooth menu to pair them quickly, which is the normal norm for most earbuds.

After that, just open the case to reconnect to your phone. They stay connected to your phone well within 10 meters, but as you begin to move above 10 meters, you begin to experience disconnections.

As we all know, most headphones these days come with dual connections, where you get to connect two devices at once. The downside here is, the Tozo OpenEgo doesn’t support this, which is a letdown on my part.

Sound Quality

The TOZO OpenEgo headphones feature 16.2mm drivers that deliver outstanding sound quality. With a larger motor coil, they produce clear highs and deep, rich lows for an immersive listening experience.

The TOZO OrigX Acoustics further enhance this experience by capturing every detail of the sound, making each listening session truly remarkable. In terms of sound quality, these Tozo earbuds really stand out.

They offer rich and detailed audio, with sharp highs, full mid-range tones, and deep bass. For any genre of music you love, the TOZO OpenEgo is sure to reproduce every sound with accuracy and clarity. Thanks to directional sound transmission technology, the OpenEgo headphones have minimal sound leakage.

Even at maximum volume, any sound leakage is limited to within 0.5 meters in a quiet environment, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing others or compromising your privacy during everyday use.

Despite their open-ear design, the headphones provide excellent call quality, thanks to dual-microphone noise cancellation.

In addition, the TOZO OpenEgo works with the TOZO app, which is available on both Android and iOS devices. With the app, you can easily adjust your listening experience. There are 16 different EQ modes to choose from, and you can even fine-tune the equalizer and control settings to your liking.

Battery Performance

With a 600mAh charging case, you get up to 30 hours of total listening time. On a single charge, the headphones themselves last about 7 hours. And there’s a handy display that shows you how much battery is left, so you’ll never run out unexpectedly.

Price And Availability

The OpenEgo comes in two colors – white and black. Tozo makes it possible for you to choose the color that best suits you. As of the time of writing, the price of the OpenEgo on the Tozo official site is $49.99. However, you can get the headphones on AliExpress for the price of $49.99, which is equivalent to NGN69,464.

Verdict

The OpenEgo headphones are excellent headphones for any athlete in search of budget open-ear headphones. The design is nice, and the comfort level is ok, but the sound quality is the selling point. The fact that you can see the battery level of the earbuds is a good one for me. This helps you to know when to recharge when they are running low. On a general note, the Tozo OpenEgo is ok for the price tag.
