The Oraimo Airbuds 4 are the latest flagship TWS earbuds from Oraimo, featuring upgraded features not found in previous series. One notable feature of these earbuds is the inclusion of an LED display, which shows the battery level at a glance. The case design resembles that of the Oraimo Riff 2. This post will cover everything we know about the Oraimo Airbuds 4, from design to sound quality. Without further ado, let’s dive into the review.
Price and Availability
The Oraimo Airbuds 4 are currently available at the Oraimo store in Kenya. At the time of writing, the earbuds are priced at KES 2500, which is equivalent to $17. They are not yet available in Nigeria and Ghana; however, we will inform you when they hit the stores. Don’t forget to use the discount code ‘BRACKET‘ when purchasing the Oraimo official store to receive a 5% discount on all your purchases.

Appearance and Build Quality
The Oraimo Airbuds 4 come in a sleek charging case. The case is compact and can easily slide into the pocket of trousers. It has an ergonomic design and is made from durable plastic material. The case comes in black with a matte surface finish that feels smooth to the touch. The matte finish makes it resistant to scratches and fingerprints. At the front of the case is a large LED display. The LED display shows the battery percentage of the case and individual earbuds.
With this LED, you can know when the earbuds and the charging case are running low and quickly recharge them. Nice feature, Oraimo. The closing lid comes with a unique transparent floral strip; with this design, you can see the buds through the lid. The lid also features the Oraimo brand name and makes a crisp sound when you close it. At the bottom of the case is the Type-C charging interface, which supports fast charging protocols.
The Oraimo Airbuds 4 adopts a beam-shaped design with the Oraimo brand name at the top of the earbuds. This surface also serves as the touch control area and comes with an indicator indicating whether the connection is established. The earbuds are super lightweight and sit perfectly in the ear canals. They snug in well, even if you vigorously shake your head; they won’t fall off. This makes them perfect for workout sessions.
As they are in-ear earbuds, they come with different ear tips; your job is to find the ear tips that best suit you. However, the medium-sized ear tips should be okay for most users. The comfort level is okay, but not excellent. I believe Oraimo can do more. They come with an IPX4 water certification, which means water splashes or sweat won’t affect their performance. It’s also important to note that waterproofing is only available for the earbuds. This means the charging case might get damaged by water. The overall design and build are cool; I like including the LED display and the floral closing lid.

Sound Quality
The Oraimo Airbuds 4 come equipped with a 6mm dynamic driver combined with Oraimo’s HeavyBass tech, which places more emphasis on bass performance. The bass is punchy but not as strong as the one you get with the Oraimo FreePods Pro and FreePods 4. The mid-frequency is cool and moderate; the vocals are clean and transparent. The separation of each instrument is what I love about the buds.
You get more of a treble quality with these earbuds. In general, the sound quality is clean and natural. These earbuds lack active noise cancellation, which is not a big deal considering the price range. If you aren’t satisfied with the out-of-the-box sound quality of the Airbuds 4, you can use the Oraimo sound app, which is available for both Android and iPhones, to tune the sound to your preference.
Battery Life
At a moderate volume, the Oraimo Airbuds 4 delivers a good seven hours of playtime, while the charging case gives an additional 31 hours. This means you get a total of 38 hours of playtime on a single charge, which is enough to last you for a whole day. However, if you are the type to crank up the volume to the maximum, you will get reduced playtime. The good news here is that the charging port comes equipped with Oraimo Anifast fast charging protocols. With a 10-minute quick charge, you get a massive 90 minutes of playtime. I would say the Airbuds 4 comes equipped with an impressive battery life.
Connectivity and Low Latency
The earbuds come with Bluetooth version 5.2 and a transmission range of 10m, which helps to make a seamless and stable connection. On the first connection, simply search for the Oraimo Airbuds 4 on your device’s Bluetooth list, and it should establish a connection within a few seconds. On subsequent connections, simply open the case, and it should establish a quick connection with your device, saving you the stress of constantly reconnecting.
When using the earbuds to stream videos on YouTube or Instagram, you get perfect lip-sync performance; you will hardly notice any form of lag. The Oraimo Airbuds 4 have a dedicated low-latency game mode on the app, which you can activate when you want to use the buds for gaming. This helps to sync the audio with your screen perfectly; however, Oraimo didn’t provide much information about the level of latency.

Call Quality
The two built-in mics help you have crystal clear calls on the Oraimo Airbuds 4. This is also made possible by the inclusion of ENC. This helps absorb any form of noise that can distract you during a call. Although the call quality is good, it isn’t the best; this might largely be because of the absence of ANC.
If you find yourself in a noisy or busy environment, the call quality will drop. This is because some noise will find its way in, and you won’t get that crystal clear call you desire. However, indoor calls are excellent. The earbuds are good for both audio and video calls; the only letdown is the absence of ANC and the inclusion of two mics.
Verdict
The Oraimo Airbuds 4 boast an excellent appearance, with the LED display aiding in monitoring the battery levels of both the case and the earbuds. The sound quality is decent, and the battery performance is a standout feature, especially considering the inclusion of the Oraimo Anifast fast charging protocols in the charging port.
However, a notable downside is the absence of the active noise-cancellation feature. I hope Oraimo begins incorporating ANC into all their new earbuds. Additionally, I’m curious about when Oraimo earbuds will start supporting wireless charging.
