Spread the love

The introduction of TWS earbuds into the market has caused a decline in the demand for neckbands or, as some will call them, wired earbuds. However, there are still some who love these kinds of earbuds and are constantly in search of a good one. So in this post, we will be reviewing the Oraimo Necklace Lite.

Oraimo released the headset a few weeks ago, and this bad boy comes with some exciting features, which include a dual-device connection, 10mm drivers, and 30 hours of playtime on a single charge. The real question is to see how these features perform in real life. Well, let’s go check it out.

Appearance And Build Quality

The Oraimo Necklace Lite is covered all around with durable plastic and feels lightweight when worn. It has a good feel to it and comes in a single color: black. The band around your neck is made of silicone; it’s flexible and lightweight. You won’t feel any pressure wearing them for a long time.

The earbuds look fragile, and even the wires that connect to them look cheap, so be careful not to damage them. When the earbuds are not plugged into your ears, to prevent them from tangling while you have the band on, each earbud comes with a magnet at the back. This magnet helps them snap together, preventing them from tangling.

You have a Type-C charging port located at the right band. Also, on the right are the control buttons. You have the play/pause button, the mode button, and also the volume up/down button. In addition, the Oraimo Necklace Lite comes with an IPX4 waterproof rating, which makes it resistant to both sweat and light water splashes. This makes it a perfect headset for workouts and fashion.

Audio Performance

In terms of sound quality, the 10mm dynamic driver of the Oraimo Necklace Lite feels fair. The neckband is pretty loud even at an average volume. The vocals are clear, and you get a thumping bass. Mind you, the bass isn’t that punchy, but it’s there, you can hear it. The mid and high frequencies are also great. If you use it to listen to high-frequency songs, you get a more balanced sound profile.

You can’t have many complaints when you check out its price. This lacks active noise cancellation, but it compensates for that with its compatibility with the Oraimo sound app. On the sound app, you can level up the sound quality with the pre-installed EQs. On a general note, the sound is moderate for me.

Connectivity And Low Latency

The Oraimo Necklace Lite comes equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 which gives a stable and reliable connection. The neckband is widely compatible and can connect to Android, and iOS devices, tablets, and even computers. To establish a connection, search for the device on your device and hit the connect icon. It supports dual connection, which means you can connect the neckband to two devices at the same time.

To connect the second device to the neckband, simply long-press the ‘O’ and ‘+’ simultaneously; this will enable the neckband to establish a connection with the other device. Better still, you can simply connect the second device via the Oraimo sound app. Also, you can switch on game mode on the app. This helps reduce latency when gaming. However, the lagging is still noticeable, but during streaming, the low latency is perfect.

Battery

The battery capacity of the Oraimo Necklace Lite is 220mAh, which is tasked to deliver 30 hours of playtime on a single charge. At a moderate volume, you get about 28 and a half hours with calls included. But one thing is this, the battery life greatly depends on how you use it. If you are the type to crank up the volume, you might get less than 28 hours. It takes about two hours to recharge the neckband from 0 back to 100%. Oraimo didn’t say anything about the wired earbuds supporting fast charging. You can reason with them when you consider the price tag of the earbuds.

Call Quality

On call quality, the neckband is a bit decent for its price. It comes with a noise-canceling feature and a well-positioned mic that helps give you a crystal-clear call. The noise cancellation feature helps suppress as much noise as it can to help you have a nice conversation on any call. Although you can experience a bit of distortion in windy or noisy environments.

It’s decent for both normal and online calls like Zoom and WhatsApp calls. Also, I love the incoming call notification. Oraimo said the neckband is equipped with a high frequency of about 15000 rpm that helps notify you via vibration of any incoming call. While you jam to add songs, the vibration lets you know that you will soon get a call.

The Oraimo Necklace Lite is available on the official Oraimo website and most of the partnered stores in the country. The neckband is priced at ₦18900. Verdict:

The Oraimo Necklace Lite is a decent headset. I highly recommend this piece for those who are in the market for a mid-range neckband with exciting features. Though it lacks ANC, it is still a decent headset for music, and it’s also perfect for workouts. Let me know what you think of these wired earbuds in the comment box.
