Sound Quality

The first thing that comes to mind when picking up an earbud is how does it sound? It has punchy bass and you will be surprised especially when you consider the price. The earbud has 13mm drivers that deliver amazing sound. Most of the songs I listened to with the earbuds were afro beats and I couldn’t resist moving my feet. The mids and Highs are noticeable and well-balanced. And I was surprised by the big sound stage while listening to music.

Despite being priced at around $20 the earbud delivers superb call quality. It features omnidirectional MEMS microphones that reduce background noise while making calls. The earbud is tuned by music experts and they kept it balanced while listening to music. Left to me I will say the sound isn’t far off from the Oraimo freepods 3. Even though it is affordable I would give credit to Oraimo for what they did with the sound.

Oraimo Roll with Tunes Design & Build Quality

The Earbud comes in a tiny carry case and it will fit in your pocket or bag easily. It has a clamshell design and if you open it you will see the earbuds resting or charging. The carry case has a matte finish on the front and a glossy finish at the back. It makes a lot of sense since you will come in contact with the front most of the time. They designed it in a way that makes it hide fingerprint stains and smudges. It has a USB-C charging port at the back. And the lid holds firmly after you open it. There is an Oraimo logo at the top of the case and it blends into the color. It is available in black or white color. There is also a blue LED notification light at the front of the case. It tells you when the buds are charging or placed inside the case.

The Earbud is stem style and it weighs just 3.5 grams. It has an ergonomic design that makes it sit in your ears for a long comfortably. The earbud also has touch controls and we will go over them in a bit. It looks like some premium earbuds from brands like Anker or Edifier even though it’s cheap. The earbud has an IPX4 waterproof rating making it suitable for working out. It is really surprising to get all these features on an earbud that cost less than $20. The earbud won’t block your ear canals to provide maximum comfort during usage.

Unboxing

The Earbud comes in a minimal package, but the box is nice. It is not as packaged as the more expensive earbuds from Oraimo. It comes with all the major inscriptions written on the box including the specs. Here are the contents you will find in the box:

  • Oraimo Roll With Tunes
  • Short USB C Cable
  • User Guide

Battery Life Oraimo Roll with Tunes

The Earbud will give you four hours of listening time and if you listen at a lower volume you might get more. It is recharged using the carry case and it takes around an hour and a half to fully charge it. The carry case can recharge the buds three times and when you combine them you get 18 hours of listening time. Each pair of earbuds has a 35mAh battery while the carry case comes with a 300mAh battery. The battery life is good and four hours is enough to listen to any podcast or watch a movie.

Connectivity & Touch Controls

The Earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0 and you can stay away from your phone at 10 meters and music will play. There are minimal lags as expected of a cheap earbud but it isn’t noticeable most of the time. The earbud can be connected to Tablets, Laptops, and iPhones.

Oraimo Roll with Tunes Controls:

The earbud has touch controls using the upper part, you can tap on the upper part for the following functions:

  • Two taps on the left or right earbud to play or pause music
  • Tap twice on the right or left earbud to answer or end calls
  • Long press on the right or left bud to change the track or go back to the previous track
  • Tap three times to call on Google Assistant or Siri depending on what you are using

The touch controls work just fine and my only wish is that they were easier. Once you get used to it you won’t find it difficult.
