What’s In The Box

The Oraimo speaker comes in the usual Oraimo package. To be honest, Oraimo did well in the packaging of the Oraimo Rover speaker. In the box, you get the Oraimo Rover itself, the user manual which comes in different languages, and a short green colored Type-C charger. That’s pretty much all you find in the box.

Design And Build Up Quality

Let’s start with the obvious, the design. A lot of people to love their Bluetooth speaker to be portable and a bit colorful and this Oraimo speaker came with both. Wait up, let’s start with the weight. According to Oraimo, the Oraimo Rover weighs 503g am using theirs because I didn’t weigh it myself. But it’s a mid-weight speaker for me. It’s portable and you carry take it with you anywhere you’re going to. The handle makes it easy for you to hold. But if you don’t feel like holding it, you can place it in your bag, it doesn’t take much space.

The speaker is cylindrical in shape and at the front of the Oraimo Rover, you will see two nice speakers with RGB light customization. We will come to the lightning later. At either end, you see bass radiators with the Oraimo logo. Going to the top of the speaker, you get to see various operational buttons which include the power button, the play/pause button, and so on. Underneath it is a nice support that gives the speaker a firm grip to whatever surface you place it on.

Mind you, you can either place it horizontally or vertically that really depends on your positional preference. During the test, we placed it horizontally and vertically and we experience zero problems. At the back, you have a rubber casing that protects the charging port and the AUX slot. Let’s I forget, the Oraimo Rover comes with a waterproof rating of IPX5, which makes the speaker resistant to water splash, rain, and sweat.

With this waterproof rating, the Oraimo Rover is a perfect speaker for outdoor activities. Please note we only test the rating by just splashing water on it. So I advise you to protect it against heavy rainfall. Also, the speaker is only in black color and every other thing is just basic. That’s all we observed about the design and build-up quality. Oraimo Rover Light Show

As I earlier mentioned, the Oraimo Rover comes with a customized RGB light at the front. This help provides a party-like environment. You can choose to go with the mixing of the five colors or just set at a single preferred color. But if you don’t like the RGB light or want the speaker to last long, you can turn it off totally. But it’s pretty cool to jam to songs with some colorful lights.

Oraimo Rover Audio Quality And FM Feature

This speaker comes with a customized dual 50 mm driver at the front and a dual 66mm bass radiator this help the speaker to deliver a super stereo sound and the Oraimo HavyBass DSP help to enhance the bass quality. With this, the speaker delivers a punchy bass quality. When listening to music, you can different instruments and clearly hear the vocals. However, as you begin to crack the volume beyond the moderate level, you will begin to notice a drop in the sound quality. So to enjoy better sound just leave it at the normal volume level.

The sound quality is good for a small gathering or a mini beach party. But if you desire more sound, you will need to connect two Rovers to achieve this. I will say for a portable Bluetooth speaker, the audio quality is ok. The Oraimo Rover also supports FM Radio. The FM features is really cool, it quickly searches and saves stations for you. The FM radio sound quality is superb and very clear. It also comes with a built-in microphone, which means you can pick up calls when your phone is connected to it.

Bluetooth And Other Connection Features

The Oraimo Rover comes with the latest Bluetooth version 5.3. This latest version allows the speaker to connect faster with your phone and gives it more connection stability. You won’t experience any form of breakage something that is common in most Bluetooth speakers. The speaker also supports an AUX connection which is also nice. However, the Oraimo Rover lacks a memory slot, but who uses that these days?

But if you are the type that loves memory card slots you might not like this much. However, since the Bluetooth connection is great you might just settle for connecting your device to the speaker only. It also supports a TWS connection which means you can connect two Oraimo Rovers together.

This is for those who love to party, two Oraimo Rover help gives a louder sound. And help put you in party mode. When you connect two Oraimo Rovers to a single phone, the connection is superb and stable so do not worry about any form of breakage in the transmission.

Oraimo Rover Battery life

This Oraimo Bluetooth speaker comes equipped with a battery capacity of 2400mAh. According to Oraimo, you get six hours of playtime when the RGB lights are on and 7 hours of playtime when you are off it. And all this at a 50% volume level. This means the playtime can reduce when you play music higher than the average volume. For me the battery life is ok and it’s perfect for any outdoor activities.

Mind you it is recommended you charge the device before using it. And the total charging hours is 3 hours which is great. If you’re like me that don’t want to miss any moment, you can listen to music while recharging. But it isn’t a good practice so just be patient till it fully recharges.
