Oraimo Freepods 3C – Design and Comfort

The first impression of any earbud is often shaped by its design and comfort. The Oraimo Freepods 3C strikes a harmonious balance between style and ergonomics. The case looks similar to that of the Oraimo Freepods 3. Its matte finish not only adds to the premium feel but also prevents unsightly fingerprints. The case is compact enough to slip into pockets or bags effortlessly.

The Freepods 3C comes in two colors, white and black. I love the black because of the matt finish unlike the white hue, which attracts lots of stains but you can still go for it if you love white colors. It comes with the Oraimo branding at the front, three LED indicators just below the brand name, and a charging port and the reset button beneath the case. And at the back of the case, you have a few certifications of the earbuds. The earbuds are stem-styled and lightweight, they look similar to the Freepods 3 earbuds.

The lightweight build ensures that extended usage doesn’t lead to discomfort or fatigue, although some users might find the fit slightly snug. You have a light indicator on both earbuds and the touch controls are just above the indicators. I love the fact that this Freepods 3C offers two different fits, what do I mean?

I meant that the ear tips on the earbuds are detachable offering a dual mode, half-in-ear, and in-ear mode. This is one standout feature of these earbuds. You can use them as half in ear or ear whichever mode suits you. The dual way makes it much different from the Freepods 3 and offers you a lot of freedom.

Oraimo Freepods 3C – Sound Quality

When it comes to wireless earbuds, exceptional sound quality is a non-negotiable factor. The Freepods 3C shines in this department, offering a well-balanced audio profile that caters to a broad range of genres. The earbuds come with a dynamic driver of 13mm equipped with a HavyBass algorithm that helps give a punchy bass.

In the design section, I mentioned that the helps come in dual mode when you have the ear tips on, that the bass mode. With the ear tips in place, you get a thumping bass even at an average volume.

But if you decide to detach the ear tips, this leads to a drop in the bass quality. However, you get to be aware of what is happening around you. You also get crystal clear mids and high frequencies. If you are not satisfied with the sound quality, you can use the Oraimo sound app to tweak the sound to your liking.

The app offers you 5 EQ modes which give you the liberty to play with the sound as you desire. I don’t use the EQ because the bass was okay, it was punchy enough. But if you get it and you think is not punchy enough you can go ahead and improve it using the app. This is another the Freepods 3C has over the Freepods 3.

Connectivity

Thanks to Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, the earbuds maintain a stable connection, minimizing audio dropouts and ensuring a seamless playback experience. The 10m wireless transmission range makes the relationship between the earbuds and your device stable, thanks to this, you can move around the house or move within 10m and still stay connected.

Battery Life and Charging

In a world where longevity matters, the battery life of wireless earbuds can make or break the deal. The Freepods 3C offers a commendable playback time of up to 8 hours on a single charge, with the compact charging case providing an additional 28 hours of juice. This ensures that even during extended travels or work sessions, you’re unlikely to run out of power.

Furthermore, the USB-C charging port is a welcome addition, with 10 minutes of charge you can get a playtime of 140 minutes which is quite impressive. While the battery life is indeed remarkable, it still plays catchup to the Oraimo Freepods Lite which offers a combined 40 hours of playtime and Anifast charging port.

Oraimo Freepods 3C – Call Quality

The Oraimo Freepds 3C tracks your voice signals and delivers a crystal clear voice to the caller at the other end of the call. This is due to the ENC features accompanied by the 4-mic beamforming technology the earbuds came with. Though it lacks ANC it still tries to suppress much noise from the surroundings giving you a high-quality call. The earbuds are suitable for Zoom calls, WhatsApp calls, and so on. The quality might not be comparable to those with ANC, but it still does the job.

Features and Functionality

The Oraimo Freepods 3C comes equipped with several features that enhance its functionality and user experience. The touch-sensitive controls on each earbud allow for effortless navigation through tracks, call management, and even voice assistant activation. The touch response is generally reliable, although a slight learning curve might be involved.

  • Double tap on either earbud – Pause/Play Music Answer/End Call
  • Tap three times on the right earbud – Next the music
  • Tap three times on the left earbud – Previous
  • Long press on right earbud (4 beeps) – Activate Game mode
  • Long press on left earbud (4 beeps) – Activate Voice Assistant

Additionally, the earbuds boast IPX5 water and sweat resistance, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor activities. This feature adds to their versatility and ensures durability. Furthermore, it features low latency that helps sync audio and video in seconds. It works well with low-graphics games anyways but I didn’t try them on more demanding graphics games

Verdict

In general assessment of these wireless earbuds, the Oraimo Freepods 3C stands out as a formidable player, with its sleek design, exceptional sound quality, impressive battery life, and a host of features. Though it is not a perfect earbud it has more features that outweigh its price tag.

I am confident that this comprehensive review will provide valuable insights to potential buyers seeking an unbiased assessment of the Oraimo Freepods 3C earbuds. Though it has an impressive bass quality, if you are the one in search of earbuds with long battery life the Freepods Lite will be a good option. Let me know what you think of these earbuds in the comment section below.
