If you are in the market for an affordable headphone with good sound quality, then you should consider the Oraimo BoomPop 2S. This wireless headphone comes with top-notch features, including gesture controls, good bass quality, impressive battery life, and good call quality. The headphones aren’t perfect, but they still have top features that most expensive headphones lack. In this review, I will be letting you know all about the Oraimo BoomPop 2S and whether it is worth your money or not.
What’s In The Box
The headphone comes in the usual black with a green accent box. You get the image of the Oraimo headphones on the front and a few specs on the back. Inside the box, you get:
Oraimo BoomPop 2S
3.5mm AUX cable
Type-C charging cable
A user manual
Oraimo BoomPop 2S Design
Plastic makes up most parts of the Oraimo BoomPop 2S. However, they are durable and reliable plastics. The matte finish and the green accent add a colorful look to the headphones. The BoomPop 2S looks similar to the BoomPop 2. That’s the only problem I have with the design. I was expecting something new, but Oraimo sticks with the previous headphone design. The ear cups are made from soft leather that helps provide a longer listening experience.
The ear cups can be folded into a bag but can’t fit into your pocket. This headphone doesn’t come with a carrying case, which I was kind of expecting, since the predecessors didn’t come with one either. You have control buttons and the Type-C charging interfaces on the right ear cups. I love the fact that you can extend the headphones to fit your head.
So if you have a big head like mine, you can easily adjust the headbands to fit. One thing I love about the headphones is it’s lightweight, which makes it possible for you to wear them for a longer period without experiencing any discomfort. In general, the Oraimo BoomPop 2S has a cheap design but still looks better than most cheap headphones on the market.

Oraimo BoomPop 2S Sound Quality
One of the features that wowed me on this headset is the sound quality. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the sound quality because that’s common with budget-friendly headphones. However, the Oraimo BoomPop 2S surprised me. On paper, the headset comes with a dynamic driver of 40mm and the Oraimo HavyBassTM technology.
Oraimo claimed the BoomPop 2S was designed to deliver thumping bass, and that’s what’s on paper. In our testing, the headset delivered on the bass quality. We tested the headphones on different Afrobeat sounds with high thumping bass, and you can feel the bass quality in every song. Also, the vocals were clear, and even the mids and the trebles were clear. For the sound, I’m giving Oraimo a 9/10 here. The sound quality is awesome.
You can hear every instrument sound from any song you’re listening to. Although it lacks active noise cancellation features, cranking up the volume helps block out any noise from the surroundings. Please don’t crank up the sound on the street; there is a reason why you shouldn’t. The Oraimo BoomPop 2S is also compatible with the sound app, so if you aren’t satisfied with the sound, you can tweak the EQ on the sound app to your taste.
Battery Performance
The BoomPop 2S comes with an impressive battery capacity of 500mAh, which Oraimo claims can last you for a good 50 hours. In our test, the headset lasted for 45 hours. However, this depends on how you use the headphones. A friend used it for a whole week on a single charge, but I used it for five days; that’s why I said it depends on how you use it.
The charging port supports the Anifast fast charging protocols, in which a quick charge of 15 minutes is capable of giving you 500 minutes of playtime. Recharging the headphones from zero to 100% takes about one and a half hours, which is okay for me. The battery performance of the headphones is the selling point of this headset, so you won’t have any issues with the battery life.

Call Quality
The call quality on this piece is also great. It comes with a mic on the right ear cup and ENC that effectively eliminates noise from the environment, giving you a crystal-clear conversation. You might experience a bit of noise disturbance when making calls in noisy environments. To eliminate this disturbance, I advise you to crank up the volume to be able to hear what the person at the other end is saying.
Oraimo BoomPop 2S Gesture Controls
As I mentioned earlier, the Oraimo BoomPop 2S supports gesture controls, which means you don’t have to touch the headphones to control it. One thing you must know is that the gesture controls only work on the right ear cup and not both ear cups. You can choose to turn off or turn on the gesture controls using the Oraimo sound app. To effectively carry out the gesture controls, take your fingers about 6cm close to the headphones.
- Tap twice to play/pause music
- Tap twice to also pick up calls and end calls
- Swipe forward twice to go to the next music
- Also, swipe forward twice to reject an incoming call
Please note, that you can’t go to the previous song; you can only go to the next song using the gesture mode. To go to the previous song, you can use the control buttons on the right ear cup.
Other Features
The Oraimo BoomPop 2S also comes with a 3.5mm wired Jack, which means you can plug in the jack into the port and use the headphones. Even if the headphone is out of battery, you can still use the jack to continue listening to what you are listening to.
However, there is a drastic drop in sound quality. Also, the headset can connect to two devices at the same time. This means you can connect it to your phone and laptop and use them at the same time.
Also, the headphone comes with Bluetooth version 5.3 and a transmission range of 10m. This gives a stable and seamless connection to any of your devices. The first connection takes about a minute, while subsequent connections are super fast.
Furthermore, you can activate game mode on the app, which helps reduce latency to perfectly syncing audio and video. For casual gaming, you experience less latency; however, on high graphics games, you tend to experience latency. When streaming videos on YouTube or Netflix, you get a perfect streaming experience.
Price And Availability
The Oraimo BoomPop 2S costs ₦38300, which is equivalent to about $25. The headphone is also available in Kenya, Ghana, and Morocco stores. You can get the headphones via the Oraimo official website and other partnered stores. Please don’t forget to use the discount code “BRACKET” to get a 5% discount on all your purchases at the Oraimo store. The code is also valid in Kenya, Ghana, and Morocco. Please support the page by using the code.
Verdict
The Oraimo BoomPop 2S isn’t the perfect headphone, but considering its price, you can’t have many complaints. The gesture controls and the battery life are the selling points of the headphone. If you love ANC, this wireless headphone might not be the best option for you. Apart from its cheap design and absence of ANC, this headset is one of the best to get at this price.
