Oraimo recently started a new series of Airpods called the Open ear series. From what we know, only two pods have been released from this series. The Oraimo OpenPods and the Oraimo Open Circlet. Oraimo released the two Airpods and they didn’t bother to make much publicity on them. I got curious and decided to carry out research on both. This post is focused on the Oraimo OpenPods. What caught my attention and made me decide to review these Airpods is the design and a few specifications Oraimo released on its website. Mind you these Oraimo Airpods are pretty pricey but I can say based on the research I conducted, the Oraimo OpenPods are worth the price. Ok without much time wasting, let’s go check out what I found. Click Here To See Oraimo OpenPods New Price. Use Discount code: F85A5F3951ZP for 5% OFF.

Oraimo OpenPods Unboxing
The Oraimo OpenPods come in the regular rectangular Oraimo package with its usual green and black color. Opening the box, you get the following;
- The Oraimo OpenPods
- User manual
- A charger
That is practically what is in the box.
Design And Build Up Quality
The Oraimo OpenPods have a unique design. It comes with the usual pod case. At the front of the case is an indicator that blinks green when you open or close the case. The indicator also comes on when you charge the case or pace the pods back into the case. At the back of the case, you get the Type-C charging port, and at the top is the usual Oraimo brand name. Opening the case, you see the pods and a button in the middle of the case. ‘Reset button’, reset the pods from the last device it was connected to when you press and hold for a few seconds.
Moving to the OpenPods itself, the pods come in a unique blue and orange color. It is made from a silicone material that makes it lightweight and skin-friendly. On the pods, you get a microphone and an LED indicator status, this indicator goes off when the pods establish a connection to your device. Behind the pods are two magnetics that connects the pods to the case so you can charge it. The Open ear design allows pods to hang at the top of your eyes instead of covering the ear canal.
This allows the drivers to be set out of our ears which could help prevent damage to the eardrum when listening to music on loud volume and any form of discomfort you might feel when they are completely in the ear canals. It also allows the circulation of air which prevents bacterial growth in the ears. In addition, the design helps you to be aware of the sound around you like traffic which is perfectly ok for outdoor activities.
The Oraimo OpenPods feature a water-resistant rating of IP55, this helps protect the pods from water and sweat. Please note, it is not suitable for water sports as it can get damaged. The OpenPods curve is designed to securely fit into the ears of its users which means you don’t have to continually adjust the pods. Adding to that, the Matt body gives a firm grid, so no matter how you move, the pods will still be in place.
Oraimo OpenPods Sound Quality
Now to the sound section, The Oraimo OpenPods have excellent sound quality. If you have used the Oraimo Freepod Pro before, you can tell how nice the sound is. But this has a better sound than the Freepod Pro. The earbuds produce a good and clean sound and a punchy bass. It features a 16mm large driver that helps to deliver high-quality acoustic precision and an immersive bass.
Oraimo made sure to balance the sound, which help delivers a quality tune to whichever music genre you are jamming to. It also uses Oraimo’s exclusive bass boost algorithm. This feature helps tune and boost the bass and also enables the woofer to be heard at different volume levels. The algorithm feature also makes every musical instrument and vocals be heard clearly without any form of a mix-up.
Call Quality
The Oraimo OpnePods features with a 4-mic Noise reduction feature. This help to reduce the noise around the caller and make the person at the other end of the call hear clearly. It also suppresses wind noise during an outdoor workout. So if you are working out outdoors either jogging or running, and you are on a call, the OpenPods noise cancellation feature will help to suppress the wind noise around you to give you a crystal clear call.
Oraimo OpenPods Battery Capacity
The Oraimo OpenPods feature a massive battery capacity and gives prolonged playtime. Both pods come with a battery capacity of 75mAh and the charging case has a battery capacity of 720mAh. A 30-minute charge can give you a playtime of 600 minutes. That means on a single charge, you get a massive playtime of 10 hours while the case provides you with an additional 30 hours.
This allows you to jam to your favorite songs for more than a day. Mind you, the battery life depends on certain factors which include volume level, temperature, environmental interference, and user habits. All of these factors can affect the battery run life of the earbuds. it will take 2 hours for the OpenPods to get to 100% which I think is ok
Bluetooth Connectivity
The Oraimo OpenPods comes with the latest Bluetooth version 5.2 which makes pairing with your devices super fast and gives a stable connection because of the Bluetooth range of 10m. If you have an Android device that supports Android 6.0 and above, pairing with this is quick. It also features Google Fast pairing When you open the Oraimo OpenPods case, the Google Quick Pairing Page will appear on your phone screen making it easy for you to pair the Oraimo OpenPods and your device.
