 First Impressions

The clipper is a little bit heavy but not an issue in the hands of an average Barber or you. I think it has that ideal weight with a grip shape which is great to hold. There is a protective plastic that keeps the blades from dust and drop. Its body is made out of premium stainless steel all around.

At the rear is where you will find the charging port which is Type C. Flipping to the back, you will also see the Oraimo clipper model, input voltage, and other certifications.

• Battery Life

1. Your barbing session and
2. How frequently do you have your hair cut?

 

For me, I have my haircut every weekend precisely on Saturdays. And my barbing session lasts for 20 – 30 minutes using only 8 – 9 % most times. Now, it has lasted me for more than 3 months. I even shared it with my kids during this time. I didn’t take their barbing sessions into consideration. So, the battery life is simply outstanding. Unlike some known brands I knew about, the battery doesn’t die or shut down at 10 or 20 %.  It dies exactly at 0%. This actually shocked me!!

Charging it from Zero to 100 percent will take you about 2 hours and 30 minutes if you are using a 5v -2A adapter. You can also use a 5v-1A adapter. But anything higher than these two adapter ratings can ruin your precious clipper. It has NO fast charging feature so have that at the back of your mind.

 

• Blades

Digging deeper into its Blades department, they have solid build quality. And also, caring for the blades is not rocket science. My Honest Review – 3 Months Later

Before you start using it, it is recommended and written in the user manual that you need to charge it up to 100 percent. From the factory, it came in at about 75%. So, you need to charge it for a few minutes more. And it will hit 100% in less than 30 minutes. Failure to do so might shorten the battery life or lifespan of your clipper. Therefore, adhere to this simple instruction.

 

The Blades are sharp yet skin-friendly. For the first 3 months of my use with the Oraimo smart clipper, I have zero cut. I mean not even 1. Unlike some other barbers’ clippers I have tried, this Oraimo clipper maintains a moderate temperature against my skin. Not so hot that you feel as if your head is about to get baked in the oven. The zero gap is there when you need it.

 

It has three levels of speed. So, you can aim according to what you want. Whether you are going for the closest cut or Skin Shave or Short Afro, just name your hair style… Oraimo Smart Clipper 2 will always deliver. The blades are high precision and ready to cut through anything.

 

With a minor modification, you or your barber can easily get down to 0.1 mm in a single pass. Yes, a single pass on your head!

 

Even the thickest hair strand stands no chance. It cuts through my hair like a hot knife through butter. And if it is for fading and blending or a particular hair length, the guide combs are there to help you get your desired length and style. Now, you are wondering if maybe it will be okay for carving.
