Oraimo Watch Nova V
Spread the love

It’s no longer news that Oraimo has been flooding the market with new products. The brand has recently added to its smartwatch collection, earbuds collection, and even the home appliance archive. Today we will be talking about the Oraimo Watch Nova V, one of the smartwatches that was released. After several weeks of testing, I hope this info will help you guys make a proper decision on whether to get the new smartwatch or not. Without wasting much time, let’s jump straight into it.

What’s In The Box?

  • The Oraimo Watch Nova V
  • A Magnetic charger
  • A welcome guide/User manual.

Design And Build

Before I get into details, I would like to say that the Watch Nova V is the most durable and rugged smartwatch Oraimo has ever made. The watch comes with a square-shaped face with curved edges. It has a military-grade design with tempered glass and armor protection around the watch to help protect it from any form of impact. At the side of the watch are two buttons, the home button and the sports menu button.

Here, you can customize the sports button to whatever shortcut menu you want. That’s thoughtful from Oraimo. Also, you get the name of these buttons on the armor with green ascent, this helps add more beauty to the watch. On the other side of the watch is the speaker grill. Underneath the smartwatch is the health sensor and the charging interface. The straps are made of silicon and look quite durable too.

I love that you can easily detach the straps and attach a new strap if you want. Oraimo has lots of fancy straps on their website you can go get a new one if you want. Moving on, the Nova V comes with a 1 ATM waterproof rating, which means that the watch can stay in water for about ten minutes without getting damaged. Don’t try this though, but I believe it can withstand light rain and splashes. The Watch Nova V rocks an impressive design Oraimo did a good job here.

Display

The watch comes with a 2.01 HD screen display and a resolution of 320*386. This provides a vivid and brighter display even when outdoors. The tempered glass helps prevent any form of scratches and impact. It also provides more room for operation and let me tell you the touch screen is super responsive. Thus comes with a video watch face. I mean the watch face is dynamic which helps add more life to the screen. I would prefer the watch to come with an AMOLED screen that would have been better. Oraimo going with this screen type downgrades this watch.

Health And Sport Mode

When it comes to health features and sports modes, you know Oraimo always delivers. The watch comes with over 100 sports modes which include treadmills, cycling, running, and much more. The watch comes with a few sports modes, to get more, just click on ‘more’ and you get to see others. On testing, I would say the result isn’t that accurate.

I tested the watch by taking a thousand steps which I counted manually. However, the watch recorded about 975 steps which is close but not accurate. On the health part, the watch did well in tracking my sleep. It also measures heart rate, Blood oxygen level, stress level, and much more.

Connection, Features And Performance

You can connect the watch using Bluetooth or just simply scan the QR code. For those planning to get the watch for the first time, simply install the Oraimo health app which is available on both Google Play Store and App Store. The app is super useful, it’s on the app you get to see the stats of both your health and fitness level. You can also change watch faces and do much more using the app.

The Watch Nova V supports wireless calling, which means you get to make, pick, or reject calls directly from the watch without reaching for your phone. One advice though much sure to be close to your phone when making these calls, this helps provide more stability. You can also store contacts on the watch and receive notifications. However, there are some drawbacks to this: one you can’t use them to pick up WhatsApp calls, and for notifications, you only get vibrations.

Unlike the other Oraimo watches that light up and you get to preview the notifications, this doesn’t. Furthermore, you won’t be able to give a quick reply on this one. The watch comes with an integrated music player, to use this simply add music to the watch using the health app. You can also control music directly from the watch. Another feature I love is the camera remote control, this feature helps you to review the picture on your watch before taking the shot. Other features include alarm, weather, find my device, and more.

Battery Life

The watch comes with a battery capacity of 300mAh, when you first get the watch, it is advisable to first charge it up before using it. Oraimo claimed on a single charge, the watch can last for 5 days. I used it for four days on the stretch without charging and I still have about 38% battery life remaining, which means this watch is fire when it comes to battery performance. It comes with a fast charge feature which I didn’t bother to test and it takes two hours for the watch to be fully charged.

Price And Availability

As of the time of writing, the watch goes for ₦ 54,500 on the official Oraimo website. The watch is also available in Kenya and Ghana. Please don’t forget to use the discount code BRACKET when purchasing the watch or any other Oraimo products.

Final Verdict

The Oraimo Watch Nova V is a mix of ruggedness and style. I love the build quality and the impressive battery life. However, the screen type isn’t on the level we want and when you consider the notification issues also you might tend to not like this watch. However, on the brighter side, price and battery life are what most can resist. So what do you think of this watch, let me know in the comment section.
