There was more to Honor’s product unveiling yesterday than just laptops and foldable phones. Additionally, the brand unveiled the Honor Router 5. A reasonably priced Wi-Fi 7 router with a much bolder design that forgoes the standard black box appearance. Now, let’s examine it in more detail.
Honor Router 5 Specs And Features
The Router 5 capitalizes on the current trend of technology and interior design going hand in hand. With its hollow center and soft, rounded borders, its rectangular shape gives it a unique, open structure. The Wi-Fi 7 logo is subtly displayed in orange on one side of the primarily white device, providing a pop of color. But the focus isn’t solely on design.
With five powerful FEM chips integrated into its design, the Honor Router 5 offers extensive Wi-Fi coverage. According to the manufacturer, the router can eliminate dead zones by providing a 360-degree signal over an area of 120 square meters. To help with this, it has five antennae. It can also give rates of up to 3600Mbps because it supports MLO dual-band aggregation technology and 4K QAM.
AI network acceleration is supported by the Link Turbo engine, which gives the Router 5 exceptional performance. This enables over 200 games, 3 online conferencing platforms, 8 online course platforms, and other network environments to be automatically adapted to by the router.
Additionally, the router features AI dual-band optimization. This guarantees smooth Wi-Fi band switching and intelligent frequency optimization for a more reliable connection. You also receive support for the Honor Smart Space App. On the app, customers can design a floor layout for their house for more convenience.
After that, the app locates signals and shows the strength of the Wi-Fi signal in various locations visually. For simple setup and connection, the Router 5 also supports Honor Mesh networking and QR code scanning.
Price And Availability
The Router 5 is available from Honor in two variants: a 2.5G and a gigabit version. The Gigabit version is 299 yuan (about USD 42), however, for a short period, it is only 269 yuan (about USD 37). Priced at 369 yuan (~ USD 50), the 2.5G variant is currently on sale for 349 yuan (~ USD 48). It is available for purchase on JD.com and the Honor official store in China.
