Oraimo Watch 4 Plus: Design And Build

The Watch 4 Plus comes with the usual square face with curved edges as its predecessors. One noticeable difference with this watch is its large screen size, we will come to that later. It comes with a single button on the right side which is odd. This is because its predecessors, the Watch 2 Plus and the Watch 3 Plus all come with two buttons. Probably Oraimo just went a new style with this one. Despite its large screen size, the watch is incredibly light in weight. It has a total weight of 41g which means you can have the watch on your wrist for a long period without experiencing any form of fatigue.

The watch is covered all around with durable plastic which helps contribute to its lightweight. Watches made with aluminum tend to pack more weight than those made from plastic. The strap is made from silicon material and it’s skin-friendly. The strap comes with a reasonable length which helps fit into different wrist sizes, so you don’t have to worry about your wrist.

At the back is the usual heart rate sensor the magnetic charging port and some certifications. The Oraimo Watch 4 Plus is IP68 certified which is the usual certification you get on most Oraimo smartwatches. The Watch 4 Plus is a fashionable watch and only comes in black, the build is good and the bigger screen adds more to the design.

Oraimo Watch 4 Plus: Display

With a display size of 2.01” TFT 240*282, the Oraimo Watch 4 Plus is a low-budget smartwatch with a big watch face. The bigger screen size means more visibility and enhanced screen control. You have a nano coating on the screen surface which prevents the screen from stains, fingerprints, and germs. The screen comes with a 2.5D curved glass which makes the screen ergonomic and provides more aesthetic. The brightness level is awesome, you can easily see even under direct sunlight.

With the bigger screen size comes responsive touch control. You get to slide easily and tap on any icon you wish to tap on you won’t find this easy screen operation on smaller screen sizes. It comes with 150 watch faces which is the same number you get on the other Oraimo watches. You can use the Oraimo health app to customize a watch face for yourself. The display is awesome and I believe you rarely see a budget watch with this screen size.

Oraimo Watch 4 Plus: Battery

The Watch 4 Plus comes with a Lithium polymer battery of capacity 300mAh. On normal usage, Oraimo claimed the watch will last you a whole 7 days. This is when you don’t regularly use the fitness and health features. However, if you use these features regularly you get a 5-day battery life. Furthermore, if you are the one that wants 24-hour health monitoring and also has other features like alarm, and reminders, you get a 3 days battery performance. For a budget smartwatch, it’s kind of decent.

This is what I noticed, all of the Oraimo smartwatches that were released recently have the same battery performance. I was thinking there would be an upgrade on this, but it is what it is. Just like the Oraimo Watch 3 Plus and others, it comes with a quick charge protocol. If you are the type that uses all watch features constantly, this quick charge will be of benefit.

You can quickly charge up the watch when conducting your morning routine like bathing, cleaning, and so on and you can use it for a whole day without less anxiety about battery life. To recharge the watch, you the magnetic charge and a recommended adapter to recharge. Recharging the Oraimo Watch 4 Plus from zero to full will last about 3 hours. It’s a bit longer when you compare it with more expensive smartwatches, but since it’s a budget watch no problems.

Software and Performance

The Oraimo Watch 4 Plus comes with the same software you have on the Oraimo Watch 3 Plus, 3 Pro, and the Watch ES series. A lot of folks were expecting an upgrade on this, but when you check the time frame at which Oraimo released these watches, expecting an upgrade will be practically impossible. It comes with the usual Bluetooth version 5.2, the single chip Bluetooth ensures a stable and fast connection with your phone, which makes it consume low battery and prolongs the battery life of the watch.

You get the wireless call feature similar to one of the other versions that support BT calling. For those who don’t know much about this, this helps you make, pick, and reject calls directly on the watch without reaching for your phone. Furthermore, you get to store up to 100 people’s contacts on the watch, with this you save up contacts of relatives and business associates.

Also, you get the quick reply SMS feature, with this you can set a customized reply message, and each time you reject a call, the caller gets a message on why you rejected the call. If you decide to call the caller back, you can check on the call dial section of the watch and call back. All of these features make the Watch 4 Plus a nice and must-have smartwatch. Just like most smartwatches, this also comes with the SOS contact feature. Here you set up an emergency contact. Whenever you need their help, a three-tap on the button sends a quick call to the emergency number.

Sport Modes And Health Monitoring

Packed with over 100 sports modes, the watch can help track any of your outdoor and indoor fitness activities. Some of the basic sports modes include running, bicycling, treadmill, and so on. It accurately tracks every step you make. For those of us who love walking, the watch helps count the steps you make and you can decide to check the status immediately or at the end of the day. And if you decide to share your exercise records with friendly online, with just a click you can do that. Coming down to the health monitoring section, the heart sensor helps to track your health all day long.

It helps monitor your heartbeat rate, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, pressure, stress status, and sleep rate. The Oraimo Watch 4 Plus helps to keep a tap on your sleep rate, if you aren’t having a good sleep, it notifies you to adjust your sleep level to help boost your health status. According to Oraimo, the watch detects and notifies you of any health problem and you can get all of the data on the Oraimo health app.

Although the watch is good, not all data would be accurate, I advise you to trust more advanced health devices and always do well to compare data from both devices. And if you don’t have a more advanced device, just note the values you get on the watch and close values and note the accurate values. Furthermore, you can set up health goals, and get reminders. If you set up a sedentary goal, you get a reminder to exercise, each time you sit at a particular position for a long period. You can also set a hydration goal, where you get reminded to take water. There are lots of goals you can set using the health app and the watch does well to remind you in other to enhance wellness.

Other Features

You can set up a personal assistant on the watch. These include alarm, stopwatch, timer, and so on. These are features that help enhance productivity levels. A press on the home button takes you to the section where you discover lots of useful daily gadgets.
