The Oraimo Nova AM is one of the latest smartwatches from Oraimo. Although the watch has been on the market for about a month, we just got our hands on it. The Nova AM is the direct upgrade of the Oraimo Nova V that was released sometime this year. The Nova AM comes with a large screen AMOLED display, a decent battery life, and many other exciting features. Here is a comprehensive review of the Nova upgrade and at the end of the post you might decide to upgrade or stick to your Nova V.

Oraimo Nova AM Review: What’s In The Box?
- The retail package of this Oraimo watch includes:
- Oraimo Nova AM
- Welcome/user guide manual
- Magnetic charger.
Design And Build Quality
Like most Oraimo smartwatches, the Oraimo Nova AM has a square-shaped face with curved edges. I would have loved Oraimo to start trying new things like Huawei did with their Huawei Watch Ultimate. One thing though we shouldn’t forget is that Oraimo watches are budget-friendly, so for now, let’s be happy with what we get. The Nova AM doesn’t feature the armored protection you get on the Nova V. However, the AM version comes with an AMOLED screen which is sure to provide a more saturated view.
Still, on the design, the watch case is made from a nice metallic material, and it’s kind of lightweight too, The straps are from silicon gel and are long enough to fit any wrist size. The straps are skin-friendly and comfortable to have on for a long time. Flipping the watch over, you get a nicely designed health sensor and a magnetic charging interface by the side of the sensor.
At the right side of the watch is a rotating button that serves as both the power button and functional button. Still, on the right, you get the watch’s speaker grill. To be fair the Oraimo Nova AM has a nice and simple design and simple design. One thing though it would have been nice if Oraimo had more watch colors for their watches.
Oraimo Watch Nova AM Display
The Nova AM comes with a 2.01 HD AMOLED screen display with 390*450 resolution. The AMOLED screen provides the watch with a more vivid display. Also, the brightness level is decent, you can operate the watch under direct sunlight with no issues. The curved screen provides more aesthetic to the watch and you get larger icons and a wider operational area.
The touch is super responsive and the bezel isn’t as thick as the one you get on other Oraimo watches. When it comes down to watch faces, the Nova AM didn’t disappoint, it comes with over 120 watch faces which gives you the liberty to choose any watch face that suits you would say that the display is decent enough for anyone out there.

Performance And UI
With Bluetooth 5.2, the watch syncs perfectly with any smartphone, which means is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The watch comes with Oraimo pre-installed apps which include, alarm settings, a calendar, a stopwatch, a camera remote control, and so on. UI is similar to other Oraimo watches with some little adjustments. The UI is so simple that anyone can find their way around the watch.
To power on the watch, simply press hold the power button by the side and that’s all. You can also use the rotating button to scroll down the watch if you want. Furthermore, the rotating button also helps change the watch daily, with this you can choose your preferred dial. When you swipe left on the watch screen, you get to see some major apps which include alarm, setting, and more. You can choose to customize this to your taste.
I love the fact that on this watch, you can set an alarm directly on the watch without needing the health app. When you swipe right, you get to see your daily activities like walking steps, calories burnt, and more. Further, swipe right you get the health mode menu, media menu, and contact menu. As I earlier mentioned, the user interface is very simple to understand and you can customize each shortcut menu to your preference.
Health And Sport Mode
This Nova watch comes with all the health features you get on other Oraimo watches, some of which include heart rate, Blood-Oxygen level, stress level, sleep, and more. One thing I love about this one is the near-perfect level. On their Oraimo watches, whether you have the watch on your wrist or not, the heart rate menu but for this it doesn’t do that. To get your heart rating, you will have to put on the watch.
With the watch on it tries its best to give you a near-perfect record of your health. For the sleep mode, it measures how you long slept the previous days and tells you if you have a healthy sleep routine or not. The sport mode comes with over a hundred sports modes which include, walking, cycling, running, and much more. It’s a decent watch for both sport and health, I say this because of the upgraded health sensor the Nova AM came with.

Oraimo Watch Nova AM Battery Performance
On the Oraimo website, the watch Nova AM comes with a battery capacity of 340mAh and a standby time of 60 days, but there is a catch. Nova AM comes with two functional modes: always on and power saving mode. With the Always On mode, you get the full functionality of the watch. Even when the watch screen goes to sleep, you get another watch face but this watch face consumes less power.
In this mode, the watch battery can last you about a week on moderate use. On the Power Saving mode, you only get the call function, the watch face, and some health features like steps walked. In this mode, the watch can last you for a good 60 days. But I bet you didn’t buy a smartwatch just to use it as a normal watch. For the recharging time, Oraimo claimed, you can recharge the watch in three hours, but on our testing, it took three hours twenty minutes which is close.
Other Features
The Nova AM supports wireless calling just like the Nova V. It comes with its speaker which means you can pick up calls directly on the watch. With the help of the Oraimo health app, you can save up to about 100 contacts on the watch and it also supports SOS contact. Just like other watches on the Oraimo shelf, this watch also supports SMS and social media notifications. You can activate this also on the health app. Less I forgot, the Nova AM has a waterproof rating of IP68, which means it can withstand water splashes and is also dust resistant making it a perfect watch for outdoor activities.
Oraimo Nova Price
As of the time of writing this post, you can get the Nova AM for ₦ 50,400 which is equivalent to 30 USD. The watch is also available in Ghana, Kenya, and Morocco. Please don’t forget to use the discount code BRACKET when purchasing on the Oraimo website. The code gives you a 5% discount on all your purchases and it’s valid in all the countries mentioned above including Nigeria.
